FMVSS 302 standard purpose and scope of application

This FMVSS 302 standard specifies the flame retardancy requirements for materials used in the passenger compartment of automobiles. The purpose of this standard is to reduce injuries and deaths caused by vehicle fires, especially those that originate in the interior of the vehicle such as matches or cigarettes.

The FMVSS 302 standard applies to passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger cars, trucks and buses.

Sample size and quantity: 102mm×356mm×thickness (the thickness of the sample actually used in the car, but not more than 13mm, if it is greater than 13 mm, it must be cut into 13 mm.)
