ISO 1716 Judgment Method of Heat Value of Combustion
Combustion testing has been paid more and more attention by various manufacturers in China. Due to the continuous improvement of consumers’ requirements for product safety conditions, while the products are healthy, durable and rich, the safety performance is also an issue of great concern to consumers. Here, Standard Group (Hong Kong ) Co., Ltd. engineers took the ISO 1716 combustion calorific value judgment method as an example.
1. Standard Introduction
ISO 1716 is similar to the GB/T 14402-2007 test method for combustion heat value of building materials in the Chinese standard GB 8624 classification of building materials and products.
In this test, the test sample of the specified quality is burned in the standard environment, constant volume conditions, oxygen atmosphere, and calorimetric bomb calibrated by standard benzoic acid combustion. On this basis, the heat of combustion under the specified conditions is calculated based on the observed temperature rise, considering the heat loss and the potential heat of evaporation of water.
2. Scope of application
ISO 1716 specifies a method for determining the calorific value of combustion of building products in a bomb calorimeter with a constant volume.
ISO 1716 describes a method for determining the total heat of combustion (PCS)
Three, reference standards
EN 13238, Reaction of building materials to fire-General rules for sample conditioning procedures and substrate selection
EN ISO 13943 Fire Safety-Vocabulary (ISO 13943:2000)
Four, sample requirements
A representative number of samples are selected from a component of a homogeneous product or a non-homogeneous product, and the sample composed is taken from at least five random parts throughout the thickness direction. A sample of at least 50g is taken from a homogeneous product or the main component of a non-homogeneous product, and at least 10g is sampled from a minor component (non-substantial component) of a non-homogeneous product.
Five, test requirements
In the EN 13501-1 fire performance classification of building products and components, A1 and A2 make the following requirements for the ISO 1716 test results:
The A1, A1f1, and A1L levels must meet the following four requirements at the same time:
1) The total calorific value (PCS) of the main components of homogeneous or heterogeneous products ≤ 2.0MJ/Kg;
2) The external minor components (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤ 2.0MJ/Kg;
3) Any internal minor component (PCS) of non-homogeneous products ≤1.4MJ/m2;
4) Overall product (PCS)≤2.0MJ/Kg;
The grade must meet the following four requirements at the same time:
1) The total calorific value (PCS) of the main components of homogeneous or heterogeneous products is ≤3.0MJ/Kg;
2) The external minor components (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤4.0MJ/Kg;
3) Any internal minor component (PCS) of non-homogeneous products ≤ 4.0MJ/m2;
4) The overall product (PCS)≤3.0MJ/Kg.
