Mask filtration efficiency tester BFE test

With the widespread use of anti-particle masks, their protective effects have also attracted more and more attention. The filtration efficiency of mask filter materials is a key factor affecting the protective performance of protective masks. At present, the mask filtration efficiency detector for the filtration performance of protective masks in my country is relatively complicated and is only owned by * agencies. It is difficult for ordinary manufacturers and ordinary users to test.

Therefore, in order to meet the filtration efficiency test of the anti-particulate mask and effectively carry out respiratory protection, according to the test principle of the mask filtration efficiency detector, that is, the difference in the concentration of particles of different particle sizes inside and inside. The external environment of the mouth should consider the shape and type of masks currently used on the market, and design a simple device to test the filterability of anti-particle masks to meet the design, production and user needs of different types of masks.

Particle prevention test procedure:

1. To test the anti-particulate mouth, prepare to test at least 10 samples of the anti-particulate mask, and the mask has no appearance damage.

2. Preparation of the instrument before the test: prepare the hot melt adhesive for the sealing port, calibrate the air flow meter, turn on the PortaCount instrument and stabilize it for 30 minutes. Check the connection port of each device to make sure it is sealed and free from contamination.

3. Test procedure ① Use a hot melt gun to melt the hot melt adhesive, fix the mouth in a fixed container, and then drop the melted hot melt adhesive onto the edge of the mouth; after cooling, make sure that the edge of the mouth is sealed. ②Turn on the suction pump, adjust the flow control valve, display the flow at the flow rate required by the experiment, and pump the air for 1 minute; ③Read the particle counter data and calculate the filtration efficiency of the test port.

The filtration efficiency test of anti-particulate masks uses this equipment to test the commercially available products of 50 masks of commonly used 5 brands. Among them, A and B masks are N95 cup-shaped mouthpieces. Headquarters are the United States and the United Kingdom. American NIOSH certification, C type is cup-shaped installation, D type is folding shape, both are domestic KN95 type mouth-mounted type, and have obtained LD29-92 certification, E type is domestic-made medical mouth-mounted type without special certification.

The test results show that the filtration efficiency of the four kinds of N95 or KN95 orifice filter media at a flow rate of 85L/min are all >95%, which meets the requirements of China for N95 or KN95. When the flow rate is 30L/min, the filtration efficiency of the medical port is 95.02%. When the flow rate is increased to 85L/min, the filtration efficiency is only 79.64%, which is lower than the filtration efficiency (95%) of the N95 port for particulate matter.
