The Taber 710 Scratch Tester is designed based on the technical requirements of automotive industry standards. The test specimen is fixed on a compressed air driven testing platform. The five vertical shaft bar scrapers, with interchangeable weights and optional scraper tips, are applied to the test specimen surface in a constant vertical position. The scrapers are mounted on a rigid stand and can be held in a balanced position by the operator, allowing samples of irregular width to be tested.
