The cube rolling box type pilling test method is the most common, with cork gaskets and polyurethane tubes, it can complete the tests of ISO 12945.1, GB/T 4802.3 and other standards. If the hook nails are implanted on the six sides of the rolling box, the JIS standard and some buyer's test methods can also be completed.

The latest GB/T 11047.2-2022 Textiles - Testing and evaluation of fabric snagging performance - Part 2: Roller box method (1) is almost equivalent to the BSI8479 test standard, and can share octagonal snagging rollers.

To use the octagonal snagging roller, a polyurethane tube with a wool felt pad is required, and a standard needle row (snaking needle) must be built in the roller.
