Operation process of hydrostatic head tester

Working principle of hydrostatic head tester:

The working principle of hydrostatic head tester is based on pressure sensors and high-precision computer processing technology. During the test, the equipment applies increasing (dynamic test) or consistent (static test) water pressure to the sample until water seeps out from a certain position of the sample. The pressure sensor monitors and records the hydrostatic pressure value of the sample in real-time. After the test, the average maximum water pressure of the sample can be measured and calculated to evaluate the waterproof performance of the material.

Operation process of hydrostatic head tester:

1. Preparation

Check the equipment: Make sure the equipment is in good condition and has no damage or malfunction.

Prepare the sample: Cut the sample of appropriate size from the material to be tested according to the test standard or requirements.

Add water: Add an appropriate amount of distilled water or pure water to the water tank of the device to ensure that the amount of water meets the requirements of the device.

2. Set parameters

Connect the power: Plug the power cord of the device into the power socket and turn on the power switch.

Select the test mode: Select the dynamic test or static test mode according to the test requirements.

Set the pressure rise rate and maximum pressure: On the control panel of the device, set the pressure rise rate and maximum pressure value. These values are usually determined according to the test standards or requirements.

3. Install the sample

Place the sample on the test platform: Make sure the sample is flat, wrinkle-free, and completely covers the test hole.

Clamp the sample: Use the clamping device of the device to fix the sample on the test platform. Make sure that the seal between the sample and the test hole is good to prevent water leakage.

4. Start the test

Close the drain valve: Make sure the drain valve of the device is in the closed state to prevent water leakage during the test.

Start the test: Press the start button of the device to start the test. The device will automatically apply hydrostatic pressure to the sample and monitor and record the pressure value in real-time.

Observe the test results: During the test, observe the changes in the sample. When water drops or water penetration appears on the sample, press the stop button in time to record the test results.

5. End the test

Release the pressure: After the test, press the reset button to release the pressure in the device.

Open the drain valve: Open the drain valve and return the water in the test hole to the water tank.

Remove the sample: Remove the sample carefully to avoid damage or contamination.

Record and analyze data: According to the test results, record and analyze the data to evaluate the waterproof performance of the material.

6. Precautions

Ensure the equipment is level: Before testing, the movable feet of the equipment should be adjusted to keep the equipment level.

Distilled water or pure water should be used as test water during the test to avoid interference with the test results.

Avoid stopping midway: During the test, unless there is an emergency or equipment failure, the test should be avoided midway. Otherwise, the test must be restarted.

Regular maintenance: Regularly maintain and service the equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
