Experimental steps of flame retardant testing machine for automobile interior ma

The flame retardant test machine for automotive interior materials adopts the horizontal combustion performance test method, which is used to determine the relative burning rate and flame retardant performance of various textile fabrics, clothing, and tents, especially automotive interior decorations.

As a modern technology enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales, training, and service, Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is committed to delivering more testing instruments to the market, providing testing instruments for textiles, leather, combustion, automotive interior and exterior accessories, material environmental climate aging, etc., and non-standard customization is also acceptable. Before purchase, targeted tests can be carried out according to customer requirements to ensure that the purchased instruments are applicable.

Applicable standards:

GB 8410, ISO 3795, FMVSS 302, DIN 75200, SAE J369, ASTM D5132, JIS D1201, AU 169

Experimental steps:

1. Adjust the test environment with a temperature of 10°C~30°C and a relative humidity of 15%~80%.
2. The distance between the sample and the frame is at least 20mm. The sample is fixed to the bracket at the top of the combustion box to ensure that the sample is vertical.
3. Place the marking line horizontally in front of the sample pressure plate. The distance between the marking line and the sample surface is 1mm and 5mm respectively. The marking line should maintain sufficient tension.
4. Light the gas lamp, adjust the flame height to 40mm±2mm, and adjust the gas lamp placement angle to form a 30° angle with the plane where the sample is located.
5. The sample is ignited in the flame of the gas lamp for 5s, and the gas lamp is immediately extinguished and reset.
6. If the sample does not burn, it is considered to be unignited, and another pre-treated sample needs to be tested again, but the sample ignition time in the gas lamp flame is 15s.
7. If any result of any group of three samples exceeds 50% of the minimum value, another group of samples in the same direction should be taken for retesting. If one or two samples in any group of three samples do not burn to the third mark line, another group of three samples in the same direction should be taken for retesting.
8. Measure the following times in seconds (s):
a) Time t1 from the start of ignition to the flame burning through the first mark line;
b) Time t2 from the start of ignition to the flame burning through the second mark line;
c) Time t3 from the start of ignition to the flame burning through the third mark line.
9. Calculation
For the sample whose burning flame reaches at least the first mark line, the burning speed (Vi) is calculated as follows:
Vi=60×(Di/ti)

Where:
Vi——burning speed, in millimeters per minute (mm/min);
i——flame burning to the first/second/third mark line, 1, 2, and 3 respectively;
Di——burning distance of the flame burning to the first/second/third mark line, in millimeters (mm);
ti——burning time of the flame burning through the first/second/third mark line, in seconds (s).
The burning speed of each sample is the larger value of V1, V2, and V3. The burning speed of a group of samples is the larger value of the burning speed of three or more samples as the test result, and the calculated result is rounded to an integer.
