Digital elmendorf tearing tester for textile tearing properties

Tearing strength is one of the important test items for textile testing, and the Digital elmendorf tearing tester is a testing instrument. In addition, the R&D engineer of Biaozhu Group said that the tearing mechanism is different for different tearing methods. The following briefly explains the tearing mechanism of various tearing methods, hoping to help every customer.

As a modern technology enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales, training, and service, Biaojia Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is committed to delivering more testing instruments to the market. It provides testing instruments for textiles, leather, combustion, automotive interior and exterior trims, material environmental climate aging, etc., and can accept non-standard customization. Before purchase, targeted tests can be carried out according to customer requirements to ensure that the purchased instruments are suitable.

A: Pendulum tearing strength
The part where the sample is clamped by the sample clamp: When the heavy hammer falls instantly, the sample will break from the first yarn in the tearing triangle area until the entire sample is torn.
Then a triangular area is formed between the first broken longitudinal yarn and the two sets of transverse yarns cut by the scissors. This area is called the tearing triangle area.

B: Tear strength of trousers method
The tear strength principle of the trousers method is the same as that of the pendulum method. The difference between the two lies in the different tearing speeds: the pendulum is a fast tearing, while the single tongue is a slower and uniform tearing.

C: Tear of trapezoidal method
Trapezoidal method sample diagram and sample clamping diagram
The trapezoidal method is different from the pendulum and single tongue. If the pendulum method is a single yarn fighting in the tearing, then the single tongue method is at least two or several yarns fighting, and the trapezoidal method is a group of yarns fighting, rushing forward and following, until the sample breaks.
From the picture of the tearing mechanism, we can see that the tearing of the trapezoidal method starts from the first yarn marked with a red line and continues to the nth yarn that has not stopped. This group of yarns resists tension from the vertical direction, so the trapezoidal method of tearing is more appropriate than tearing. It is more relevant to say that the tensile strength of some yarns.

D: Tear of wing method
The tearing strength of the wing method is the same as that of the trapezoidal method, but the angle is different. Different angles represent different numbers of yarns involved in resisting tension, so the wing method and the trapezoidal method are not the same type of test, and the test results cannot be compared with each other.

Comparison of various types of tearing results (taking plain cotton as an example, because other fabrics with different structures are affected by the special structure, the tearing situation is more complicated. Here, the plain weave is used as an example to give everyone a general understanding of the data of various types of tearing)

Summary: Pendulum method < single tongue method < double tongue method < wing method < trapezoidal method
