Thermal radiation melting drop tester experimental parameters

The hot irradiation melting drop tester is a test for the NFP92-505 and EU95/28/EC standards specified in Appendix 7 of ECE R118 to determine the melting characteristics of the material. The equipment is integrated with electromechanical control, and the outer box cold plate is treated with orange paint. The box has strong acid resistance inside and outside and a long service life.

Test principle:
Place the sample on the support, the distance between the sample and the radiation surface is 30mm; the container including cotton wool is placed 300mm below the support pot grid. Move the electric heater to the side where the radiation does not reach the sample crystal, turn on the switch, wait for it to run, and then put it back above the sample and start timing. If the material melts and deforms, keep the electric heater at a height of 30mm2; in the first 5 minutes of the test, if the material starts to burn, push the electric heater to the side for three seconds, wait for the flame to go out, and then move it back to the original position. Repeat the same operation, and finally see if the droplets fall to burn or ignite the cotton.

1. Sample holder: stainless steel ring with an inner diameter of 118mm, stainless steel mesh with an inner diameter of 0.70mm, and mesh size of 2.10mm

4. Radiant heat source power: 500W (optional)
5. Radiant heat source radiation surface: transparent glass plate with a diameter of 100mm±5mm
6. Distance between residue container and sample holder: 300mm
7. Distance between sample upper surface and radiation source surface: 30mm
8. Heat flux meter range: 10W/cm (optional)
