Working principle of multifunctional fabric air permeability tester

The multifunctional fabric air permeability tester is an indispensable and important equipment in the modern textile industry. It is based on the two basic principles of permeability and air permeability, and can accurately measure the ability of fabrics to pass gas, which is of great significance to both manufacturers and consumers.

Shanghai Qianshi Precision Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2012. It focuses on the research and development, design, and production of textile testing instruments, and provides textile testing instruments and services for academic research units and testing institutions. Shanghai Qianshi is currently one of the most competitive R&D textile testing instrument manufacturers in China. The R&D team is composed of a group of experienced engineers. We are committed to serving customers wholeheartedly and striving to promote technological innovation in textile testing instruments.

Working principle:

The working principle mainly relies on the principle of gas permeation. Permeability refers to the ability of gas to pass through fabrics, while air permeability refers to the speed at which fabrics pass through gas. These two principles are combined to calculate the air permeability of fabrics by accurately measuring the changes in air pressure generated when gas passes through fabrics.

Specifically, a multifunctional fabric air permeability tester usually consists of a sample chamber and a measuring device. During the test, first place the fabric sample to be tested in the sample chamber, and use a vacuum pump to remove the gas in the chamber. Then, by adjusting the pressure difference in the instrument, the external gas passes through the fabric sample, and then the measuring device measures the change in air pressure. According to the value of the air pressure change, the instrument can automatically calculate the permeability and air permeability of the fabric, thereby obtaining accurate test results.

Test method:

The test method of the multifunctional fabric air permeability tester usually includes the following steps:

1. Instrument preparation: Before work, the instrument should be leveled to ensure that it is placed horizontally. Then check whether the sample setting ring is tightened, whether the airtight ring is close to the two joint surfaces, whether the pressure head can be flexibly moved up and down, whether the connection between the suction hose and the flow cylinder is tight, and whether the door cover and door lock on the flow cylinder can be closed tightly. In addition, it is necessary to check whether the printer is correctly connected online to calibrate the instrument and check for air leakage.

2. Sample preparation: Prepare the sample as required and cut it into the specified size. Select a suitable sample setting ring install it on the instrument, and select the corresponding nozzle.

3. Parameter setting: Turn on the power of the instrument and set the parameters, including test pressure difference, test time, etc.

4. Test process: Press the start button, the instrument automatically compresses the sample and starts the test. When the set pressure difference is reached, the instrument automatically loosens the sample and automatically converts the test results. After the test, the instrument will display parameters such as air permeability and pressure difference, and can also print the test results.

5. Data processing: Perform data processing in accordance with relevant standards (such as GB/T 5453-97) to obtain various barrier parameters of the sample.

Application areas:

Multifunctional fabric air permeability tester is widely used in various fields of the textile industry, including but not limited to:

1. Textile production: Manufacturers need to test the air permeability of fabrics during product development, quality control, and new product development to ensure that product quality meets market demand.

2. Clothing manufacturing: When designing and producing clothing, clothing manufacturers need to understand the air permeability of different fabrics to select suitable fabrics and improve the comfort and functionality of clothing.

3. Automotive interior: Automotive interior materials such as polyurethane, PVC, leather, etc. need to have good air permeability to improve the comfort of drivers and passengers. The multifunctional fabric air permeability tester can test the air permeability of these materials to ensure that they meet the relevant standards.

4. Medical protection: Medical protective supplies such as masks and protective clothing need to have good air permeability and barrier properties to protect the health of users. The multifunctional fabric air permeability tester can test the air permeability of these supplies to ensure their protective effect.

5. Building materials: Building materials such as geotextiles and waterproof rolls need to have certain air permeability to improve the durability and comfort of buildings. The multifunctional fabric air permeability tester can test the air permeability of these materials to ensure that they meet the relevant standards.
