Gellowen has developed its filter media testing system of G505 for the determination of particle concentration, dust penetration, cycle time, pressure drop, residual pressure drop, fractional efficiency, gravimetric separation efficiency. G505 allows testing of specific filter media for cleanable filter for dust removal from industrial flue gases and the recovery of valuable materials in accordance with international standards.  
 
Applications:
G505 filter media testing system is pro- fessional designed for filter media to be used in cleanable filters, e.g. baghouse filters, pocket filters, cartridge filters. By simulating local filtration and cleaning conditions of a filter element, filter me- dia testing system provides constant and reproducible manner loading of the filter sample with test dust.

Ambient air is introduced into the vertical raw gas duct to generate a dust-laden, dirty-gas flow with the help of dust feeder. Using dry compressed air, uniform dust concentration is attained over the entire filter face. The dust forms a filter cake causing an increase in the pressure drop. Test sample is cleaned by means of a defined pulse of compressed air from the clean gas side without interrupting the flow once a predetermined pressure drop is reached across the filter sample.
The filter media testing system consists essentially of dust feeder for solid aerosol genera- tion, vertical raw gas duct, filter holder, horizontal clean gas duct, optical particle measuring device, pressure measuring device, flow unit and cleaning unit.
