2 big advantages of Sweating Guarded Hotplate

2 big advantages of Sweating Guarded Hotplate

1.Accurate, repeatable textile measurements

The Sweating Guarded Hotplate, or “Skin Model”, is used to produce measurements of thermal resistance (Rct) and vapor permeability (Ret) for textiles as per ISO 11092, ISO 13029, ASTM F1868, and ASTM D1518 (Option I or II). The SGHP-8.2 and SGHP-10.5 models include hotplate with integral sweating surface, variable airflow rates, gravity fed fluid supply system, and ambient temperature and humidity probes. Both sweating hotplate models are available with or without an integrated chamber.

2.Make testing as simple as clicking start and walking away

Sweating capability is achieved through a unique porous wicking surface on the test plate and outer guard ring, while airflow rates are computer controlled using an adjustable-height air plenum hood that readily accommodates a variety of sample thicknesses. An electronics-grade copper test plate and guard ring with ultra-stable resistance wire heating provide unparalleled temperature uniformity. SGHP systems are available with an integrated climate chamber featuring a 15°C to 55°C temperature range and steady-state accuracy of ±0.1°C.
